National Centre for Independent Living This website is designed to be a resource on independent living, direct payments and individual budgets for disabled people and others working in the field who may find it useful.
ACAS Acas aims to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations.
Peninsula These Employment Law services support disabled employers, through FISH Insurance, how to deal with a difficult employee or what they should do when facing a Tribunal claim. Instead, they enjoy the reassurance of having Peninsula's expertise on hand to assist with any tricky or trivial employment matter. Some Local Authorities allow disabled people on Direct Payments to purchase this service.
Independent Living Alternatives ILA is an organisation of disabled people providing a comprehensive range of personal assistance services. ILA aims to enable people who need personal assistance, to be able to live independently in the community and take full control of their lives and thereby have individuality and spontaneity. ILA provides personal assistance either by providing personal assistants or by enabling individuals to employ their own personal assistants. ILA establishes the necessary personal assistance as a direct part of an individual’s life to enable disabled people to have direct control over their own lives
PA Pool PA Pool provides members with a browsable database of PAs and PA Users, where information about each person, plus who or what they are looking for, can be accessed at the click of a button.
Roxburgh UK provides assistance, consultation and training to people who wish to live independently and to those who are working in the social care sector.
Premier

The
United Kingdom's Disabled People's Council (formerly
BCODP) is the UK's national organisation of the worldwide Disabled People's
Movement.
People First
is there to help people with learning difficulties speak up for themselves,
with help and support if needed.

This is a national human rights organization fighting
for the rights of people with learning disabilities.

Lives is an independent user-controlled organisation.
Disabled Parents Network Disabled Parents Network (DPN) is a national organisation of and for disabled people who are parents or who hope to become parents, and their families, friends and supporters.
Alliance for Inclusive Education is a national network led by disabled people which campaigns to eliminate discrimination within the education system.

TUDA The Trade Union Disability Alliance –is an organisation of Disabled Trade Union Members. We are a campaigning group with individual members from over two dozen different Trade Unions.
FASD Trust This is a national organisation supporting people affected by Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), an umbrella term for several diagnosis that are all related to prenatal exposure to alcohol (i.e. while a baby is still in the womb).
Regional Disabled People's Organisations
The
Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living is an
organisation of disabled people, Europe's oldest CIL. We provide a range of
services for disabled people in Derbyshire and surrounding counties.
The Greater Manchester
Coalition of Disabled People campaigns for the
rights of disabled people and does this through providing information and advice
and organising events.
Herefordshire Centre of Independent Living (HCIL) is an organisation controlled by disabled and older people that provides independent living services to disabled and older people (Service Users).
Norfolk Coalition of Disabled Employers is a human-rights group controlled by disabled people and our organisations. We organise and take part in campaigns and consultations that promote social equality and dignity for all disabled people. We run services to support disabled people's independence
Southampton Centre for Independent Living is a democratic membership organisation run and controlled by disabled people committed to campaigning for the full civil rights of disabled people.
Suffolk Independent Living is the new direct payments advice and support service in Suffolk. Suffolk Independent Living (SIL) is a service that provides advice and support to people considering or using direct payments in Suffolk. SIL is managed by the Norfolk Coalition Of Disabled People (NCODP) and funded by Suffolk County Council.

Care Quality Commission The independent regulator of health and social care in England. Our aim is to make sure better care is provided for everyone, whether that’s in hospital, in care homes, in people’s own homes, or elsewhere. We regulate health and adult social care services, whether provided by the NHS, local authorities, private companies or voluntary organisations. Violence and Abuse
Information pack for disabled women This pack was produced by the European Forum Disabled Women's Committee (sadly now defunct). It includes a discussion about how to tackle abuse by PAs and carers.
Women's Aid Posters and a leaflet for disabled women, including abuse from PAs and carers.
Other
Disabled Travel Advice contains more than 50 articles, constantly added to and updated, which are useful for disabled travellers. Some information may also be of use in training PAs.
